Me: 'Exactly.'
Sister: 'Really? Huh! Do you know how tough it is to give exams for nearly a month? And if you don’t get over 95%, you won’t get into a good college.'
"Sister: 'Gate is easy,' said my sister who scored well in JEE Mains and Advanced but wasn’t happy with her board marks (around 94%, but she didn’t think it was good enough!).
Me: 'Exactly! What's the point of comparing different exams? What are you trying to say?'
Me: 'I mean, are you comparing the failure rates, syllabus, depth of understanding, question difficulty, or the range of topics covered?'
Sister: 'Okay, but...'
I replayed her words in my mind. Was that a slight dig? 🤔
She stared at me for about 10-15 seconds, then went back to watching the video.
Me: 'So that means it's the toughest exam?'

Sister: 'Hmm, yes. The same goes for entrepreneurship or starting a business, right? They’re also tough if you want to succeed.'
Me: 'Board exams are easy.'
Me: 'Exactly! The same applies to Gate. When people say Gate is tough, they usually mean it’s tough for PSUs. Gate questions might be easier, but the competition is fierce due to limited seats.'

Me: 'Look, if you want to get into the best DU colleges, the board exam is the toughest. If you want IIT, then JEE is the toughest. If you aim for IAS/IPS, CSE is the toughest. For PSUs or IITs for Masters, Gate is the toughest. For foreign universities, GRE/GMAT is the toughest. For AIIMS, it’s the toughest. For becoming a CA, that’s the toughest for you. Want to join the Indian Forces? NDA/CDS is the toughest. The same goes for SSC-CGL/CHSL/IBPS exams.
